The area surrounding the Casa is mainly forest and wine region. Because of its location at approximately 12 km from the coast, you will also find extensive dune areas and of course the wide beaches on the Atlantic Ocean.

In the immediate vicinity you will find a number of smaller villages. Cantanhede is about 10 km away, a place with a regional function. You will find here everything: banks, supermarkets and shops, as well as various bars, bistros and restaurants on choice. The university town of Coïmbra is about 35 km away and with all its historical sites and views definitely worth a visit. Aveiro, the Venice of Portugal, is also 35 km away.

Other interesting places to visit include Conimbraga, Montemor-o-Velho, Luso and Buçaco.
